1921-2021
Cllr James Rushton, Chairman of Woodham Walter Parish Council, said; “The Councillors and Clerk of Woodham Walter Parish Council are deeply saddened by the news of the death of His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.
Our thoughts are with Her Majesty The Queen and all of the Royal Family at this sad time. We join with so many people in mourning his loss and remembering the huge service that Prince Philip has given to this country, including through The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award scheme, which has inspired so many young people including within Woodham Walter.”
An online book of condolence will be available at www.royal.uk.

The Parish Council and St Michael’s Church are liaising and it has been confirmed that on Saturday 17th April the church bells will be rung in the 5 minutes leading up to the 3pm One Minute Silence which signifies the beginning of the funeral. Any further details will be announced over the coming days.
It is noted that the Royal Family have requested that in line with current restrictions, members of the public do not leave floral tributes or gather. The Palace has suggested that people could donate to a charity instead, if they wish to do so.
